I been wanting to spice my music choice up so im asking if anyone knows any good songs in the Alternative Metal genre? I'm into bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Distrubed, Linkin' Park, Black Veil Brides, Pierce the Viel, Drowning Pool, Nickelback, The Confession, Arteyu and more.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

As strangle pants said, Rec thread.

This also isn't a good place to ask for bands similar to that, Modern Rock or even Classic Rock would be better places.

Despite that, try these.

Bullet For My Valentine
Spineshank
Mnemic
Demon Hunter
Taking Dawn

You may like them.

Could you explain what Alternative Metal is?

Is it stuff that is tuned to Drop A# or Drop B, has mid range vocals, average rock song structure, and very little solos? if so...

Breaking Benjamin
Janus
Chevelle
Three Days Grace
Five Finger Death Punch

No, its constructed like a pop song almost with vocals, (Afterlife by Avenged Sevenfold for example), A heavier type guitar part with more techincal solos, normally heavy bass drums(Not always, but usually), and sometimes just a little bit of screaming. Some Alternative Metal bands add techno in but thats not in my taste.

the computers
sharks
the horrible crowes
arcane roots
pulled apart by horses

all these are awesome bands, of varying genres.

Nickelback and metal don't belong in the same sentence; Metallica is thrash metal, Avenge sevenfold is nu-meta and i don't believe i'm alone having no idea what "alternative" metal is

Oh. Sounds like you want a form new 2nd wave mainstream metalcore.

Trivium
Darkest Hour
Killswitch Engage
God Forbid
Becoming The Archetype
Sky Eats Airplane
The Devil Wears Prada
Lamb Of God
Devildriver

Check out:

Slayer: Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood, Seasons in the Abyss
Iron Maiden: Number of the Beast, Powerslave, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Black Sabbath: Paranoid, Master of Reality, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Heaven and Hell
Judas Priest: Painkiller, British Steel

These are probably the bands/albums that get most people into "real" metal (I like a little of what you like-but they shouldn't really be in the metal section).

Yessssss
Seasons in the Abyss is what turned me over to 'proper' metal.
