Did you mistype the title on purpose?
Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise

Might go if the headliners are fantastic. I only went last year because of Rammstein and Tool. So it's going to take something at least that big.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to put it, along with your other advice, into a book, the pages of which I will then use to wipe my ass.

Odd Future has enough awesomeness to compensate for any and all other sucky bands on the line up. Although, i will most likely be out of the country during BDO.

Yeah, I like them. I like Frenzal Rhomb, too. I might even see Girl Talk if I could somehow get drunk enough off the light beer they sell. Wouldn't bother with anything else though.

This is only the first announcement though. Hopefully there's something better coming up.

Last year I went to BDO just for Rammstein and it was worth every penny. Doesn't look promising this year though. Soundwave on the other hand...

The Living End are excellent.

Those are the 3 bands I'd consider watching

...yet the latter 2 were among the lineup at Lowlands in Holland last month, and I skipped 'em both, just to give you an idea

What I'd recommend tho, if you were really planning on going anyway, is looking up EVERY other band in that list on Youtube (at least 2 songs each) and check out if they're worth listening to at all. Because for some reason the "world touring circus" is pretty damn sh*tty this year. A lot of European festivals suffered from a lack of headliners too. I myself have got to get my share of summer festival goodness, so what I do is just visit the ones that are already pretty cool on their own (just picture the exact opposite of Woodstock '99 where they only had like 1 main stage, 0 additional entertainment and they were charging like 20 bucks for a friggin' bottle of water) and that's the one I'll go to, as long as I've got some buddies with me of course

If BDO is not one of those festivals (never been to Australia, so I dunno) then by all means skip it this time. But as I said, wait for the next couple of names to be announced, then decide. A lack of "big names" doesn't really bother me -> some of the best gigs I've seen in the last few years were by relatively unknown performers (nothing like that good ol' "looks like I stumbled upon a little gem here"-feeling, plus you often get to stand really close to the guys if they're playing on a smaller stage). Of course you have to do some homework first, or you'll probably miss 'em once you're there

Exactly this. OF live is intense even though Tyler the Creator is probably one of the stupidest people alive. Love him though.
