Ok it's that time, the time to name your favorite band that no one ever seems to have heard of. We all have that band that is on every playlist, every mobile device and is the soundtrack for a lot of good times...that no one else seems to even know exists. For me it's these guys:

Brother Firetribe.
This is a band from Finland. They are primarily a side project for Nightwish lead guitarist guitarist Emppu, but have released 2 full EPs and at least 1 video. They don't play Goth Metal tho, they play straight up balls to the wall 1980s style Arena Rock. Here are a couple of my favorite songs.

Heart Full of Fire(duet with Nightwish Singer Annette)

Who's your favorite "under the radar" band/artist?

Veara.

apparently, no one has heard of them around me, and they have 2 full length albums out, so, yeah.

yeah, they're pop punk, and I know how UG feels about pop punk, but whatever.

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

Whitestarr. Singer is Lou Adler's son, drummer is Roy Orbison's son and dated Kat von D for a while, and they even had their own show on VH1 for a season, but no one seems to know them. So sad they're not together anymore.

I've still not met anyone who had already heard of any of these bands, though I have converted some people.

The band Big Country comes to my mind. They are one of my favorite new wave bands and I've yet to meet someone who knows who they are.

Also, I don't know if its just my area or not but I haven't met anyone who has heard of another one of my favorites, Gang of Four.

Farewell Continental, only people I know who has heard of them are my cousin and brother. All Motion City Soundtrack fans should know them but the ones I know don't and say something like "what the hell! Justin Pierre can do two bands at the same time!"
http://www.youtube.com/user/TFCGofNA
- Their channel.
Japandroids are also really good, they are from Vancouver and are a duet.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aT27ZACak48
- my favorite song by them.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Black guitar, white ones are almost as good but black ones are better, white ones just don't sound quite as good.

Troops of Doom. They're a fairly new band and I know two of their members so I might be a little biased, but they're awesome.

Yeah, I'm not surprised I've never heard of any of the listed bands. I'm a young 'un that listens to 98% classic stuff.

So my cases of "never heard of them" are a lot different than most of you here. I'm pretty sure I've been asked "What's an Aerosmith?" before.
Earlier this year, I was so excited to tell all my friends about how I got a seat change to the front row at a Peter Frampton concert all I got was "Eh...never heard of him."

Those first three are awesome.

For me? Eh...everyone on the forums will know I push Snoras hard. Besides them:

Ovens
Greys
Nedry
Cathedraal
Letters in Binary
Someplace to Hide
Velveteen
D. Vassalotti
Scarlet Youth
