Kinda knocked this one out pretty quick actually, but I am happy with how it turned out. The song is separated lyrically into a narrative setup with a sci-fi background of a large group of people who mine Jovian gas giants, and is eventually caught in a space-time slipstream (or whatever you want) traveling faster than light - The second half is the less sci-fi part and more 'human' part where the effects of prolonged isolation show, A topic I intend to touch on in much more detail in another song, so let me know what you think.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Voice and Void
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Through the deepest reaches of space
Through the darkest parts of our mind
Into our most feared emotions
We've become travelers in time

Sifting through the fabric of time
Hunting our Jovian beast
Falling prey to an unknown force
Colliding with the quantum world

Faster than the speed of light
Tachyonic speeds have been achieved
Forced into a never ending
Space-time tragedy

Will we ever know something other than the presence of time?
Will we ever be released from the holds of this prison?

Sever the link
Please let us die...

The first to fall was me
Then my loyal crew
Our worlds folding into
A nightmare made reality

Then the isolation
Took my most precious treasure
As I watched my dear love
Slowly take her....

I cannot stress the pain
Beyond the mere physical
I cannot stress the anger
Beyond the mere psychotic

A deafening roar of silence
Permeates throughout the hulls
All that remains of anyone
is but voice and void

I cannot stress the sadness
Beyond the realms of loss
As I watched her slowly
Dig into herself with the knife

6 million years of time
All but a blur
In our wakes

Dilution of the self and mind
Mental collapse
Destitute and blank

Barely anything
Human remains
Nothing but mere shells

Unbeknownst to us
Alien eyes lay upon
A sick experiment

That sounded DOPE. I'm not the biggest fan of super low death metal voices. But when the vocals went from the lows to the demonic sounding mids I loved it. I am also really digging the subject matter, it's really awesome to see people not talking about the usually bullshit in metal songs. You guys took a totally different direction, though. The mixing sounds really great too. I can't say enough good things about the track, really. Definitely sounds like something from a successful touring band.

Here's a link to a little instrumental work in progress at the moment, eventually it'll have bass, vocals and drums too, but for right now it's just me on guitar. https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1483927

EDIT: Sorry, I linked to the wrong spot.

Like the synth in the intro, very dramatic buildup. Like the tone of the guitars when they come in. Production is very good, playing is tight. Vocals are decent. Riffs are pretty good. Seems pretty well structured, flows well. Good idea to have a different riff around the 3min mark, time was right for a different feel. I like the vocals in this section more (that's more just personal preference though). Very tight playing again in the lead part by the two guitars. If I would change anything, would probably be the ending, it just kinda stops. Overall, very good though, nice one!

Yeah, I originally had a violin kind of outro - But I'm unsatisfied with getting any good melody to bring it out.

Thanks for your time guys!

This is ****in awesome. Production is spot on. very clean and professional

The drums in the intro are stunningly realistic, did you record it or just have really good samples?

The song itself is really awesome too. Keep it up!

Theres a link to my thread, though it's basically the polar opposite of this but I'd like to hear your opinion!
