The Pink Floyd song "Fearless" off of the Meddle album is in a rather strange tuning. G G D G B B. It adds a pretty cool effect to the sound of strumming, actually. But I'm curious--what tuning would this be called? If it has a proper name?

Thanks for the help!

*edit: Actually, I think I just found the answer. I guess it's just a variant of open G?

Open G

Edit: No variant. Just open G. See the notes? They make a G major chord.
And no, Guitar Hero will not help. Even on expert. Really.

That's ok, just look to the notes, they'll tell you.

I should assume that open tuning, just like scales, are based off of the root note?

Well everything is based off the root note, but if you mean the "lowest note", nope.
