Hey all, on my guitar the volume knob became extremely tight yesterday while jamming. It was so tight I couldn't physically turn it either direction. So when I came home I took off the volume knob and had a look at the inner bit. (Excuse my terminology).

I wasn't sure if the outer knob was attached too tightly onto the inner bit but I found out it wasn't, because even now the inner bit is immovable. Any suggestions?

if the stem that pokes out of the guitar rolls back and forth easily,

then perhaps the cap was pushed too flush to the guitar causing friction,
and making it difficult to move the knob.

No the stem on the guitar is stiff as hell, I struggle to move it even with a screwdriver.

ohhh. ok then the pot (the stem and the part it's connected to) is broken.
sorry.

it's still a cheap fix.

~$4 for a pot, and you can solder it in there yourself,
or pay like $20 to replace.

for reference, couple of pots.
