http://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-for-occupy-wall-st-moveme/

This is the closest I've seen to an agreed-upon list of goals for this organization.

Some points are OK, but extremely vague. Most of them seem unrealistic and won't help the economy

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the "Books." World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the "Books." And I don't mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

These demands don't seem grounded in much economics theory...

Although some of them are good ie:
Demand four: Free college education

That $20/hr figure probably comes from the statistic that minimum wage would be about $20 if it increased as much as CEO pays and company profits.

I do. It's good that they have a premise for the protests. A few of the demands are stupid, most of them are asking "too much," but the intent is good.

It also comes from people who apparently have literally zero understanding of economics.

Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending "Freetrade" by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.

well those two directly contradict eachother for one thing...

The intent is good the demands just come off as unrealistic and would cause more spending then job producing.

I'd say they're being way, way too radical and generally coming across as morons. Half the things they put on the list are literally impossible, such as "Total debt forgiveness." Do they expect us to say "Hey, um, China? Yeah, we don't owe you trillions of dollars anymore. Oh, what's that?, how are you gonna get that money back? Oh, I don't know, just print some more or something. Troops on their way? Alright, see you in a few."

I'd agree that for any movement it's better to settle on specific demands than to just be angry about nothing in particular, but not when they're all clearly impossible or will make the economy worse, by a whole bunch.

The thing is even if these demands aren't implemented, bringing them up is at the very least an attempt to shift the debate away from the far right place on the spectrum it occupies now. So for example, if the debate is between raising the minimum wage to $20 and not raising it at all, the compromise position becomes raising it by a few dollars. Moving the goalposts and thereby moving the center, it's what the tea party's been doing for a couple years now.

What the fuck is this I don't even

Unfortunately this tells me they're a bunch of morons who don't understand economic practice. Doubling the minimum wage wouldn't do anything - People would start charging double for stuff. You can't just pump money into a system expecting it to work out.
