[size="7}xxx{/SIZE}[/SIZE"] I have just bought a Mesa Boogie stilletto cab. I have a Fender Frontman combo, 100 watts but doesn't have a good tone I like some of the cleans but the distortion/crunch sucks. I want a more thrashy, metal sound but decent cleans. Whats a good alternative instead of setting my Frontman on top of my Mesa?

Practically any good tube head in existence. You've got practically one of the best 4x12's out there.

How much are you willing to spend on a head?

Well, first of all - The cab is not making your Frontman sound bad, it's the Frontman that's making it sound bad

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

I didn't recognize you with the new avatar for a second there.

Also yeah, answer bluestratplayer's questions and we'll be able to help you out better.
