Ey there guys, I'm going to post a new melodic death metal song that I have made in a few days this week, since I'm not a drummer and not a professional guitarist (had been playing for nearly 3 years) there are mistakes here and there, though any criticism, advices, creative thoughts are of course welcome. The song is in the vein of Detonation (I took a lot if influence from them), a little bit of At The Gates, err maybe some early In Flames, and a little bit of Be'lakor without the keyboards and synths.

Hope that you enjoy!

PS: There is a bit of audible clipping and low end boominess, I'll fix that as soon as possible.

Recording information is also at the link.

i would say its more metalcore than melodic death metal, really great song, something i would listen to, clean part was really similar to darkest hour anyway well done

Well yeah, got a bit of core influence too, though to oldschoolize it a bit, i added blast beats and that little clean part. Darkest Hour is few of the modern melodic core bands that I like though, thanks for your response.

Just need to find a proper vocalist that sounds like early Anders or Mikael Stanne, and a good songwriter since I suck at it.

Its pretty good but theres a riff about :30 in that i thought was awesome in comparison to the rest of the song. I wouldve like to have heard more harmonies but im a big fan of overkill. Not gonna comment on the mix other than to say it sounded level and loud on my phone.

Overall production sounds very good and heavy. I agree with z4twenny that the part at 0:30 is awesome and best part of the song. The riffs are pretty awesome and quite unpredictable (in a good way). Yes if you could get a vocalist like early Anders Friden, it would fit very well with your style. The clean part is nice for a change of pace and sounds great when the heavy guitars come back in afterwards. Overall, that was excellent, really liked it.

I can see more influence more from metalcore than melodeath in most parts. That being said I do like this song a lot. The rhythm is great, nice and heavy and that's where I see At The Gates as an influence (in some parts). Great structure, this song was written very well. I could see some powerful mid/high growls on this. Mixing isn't too bad, I can't give you any advice because it's better than most of my mixes turn out

Dude your song ruled! Nice to see that you can manage to keep it heavy and melodic at the same time!
