right now i am in a dilema, i see an ibby on craigslist that i can probably snag for $460 its a 570 and in good shape, origional hard case.

or one of those 60's satin gibbys with the P90 set. i own six gibsons, but none have P90's, and i am just dying to hear a LP with P90's through my dimed 1968 bassman.

i have a Ibanez 3550MZ that is more 'shread' guitar (god i hate the word shred and all that goes with it, because i am not playing any of that crap) think more melodic death metal, and maybe a little bit of vai. i have a non trem superstrat that could be backup, but i would use the trem a decent amount, so not ideal, i have another guitar that could be a backup, which is a Wolfgang, but they have only a dive only trem, i need a second full floater.

i got $550 at the moment. and am on the fence.

as far as the info goes:
tampa, FL
preferably used unless i get to rape guitar center again.
like i said $550 atm, it wont take long to get it up there for the gibson.

What style do you play more? Couldn't you sell a Gibson and get both guitars?

It sounds like you want the Gibson more, but are considering the 570 because it seems like a good deal.

Unless the RG570 is the color and configuration of your dreams, it's not really a great deal. They go for around that price all the time on eBay, you just gotta watch. I watched a white 750(that had turned into a really cool violet pearl over time), original case, mint with a Duncan(I wanna say Distortion) in the bridge go on eBay for $450 shipped. I know it sucks not playing it first, but that's the going rate. Hell, there's an Ibanez RG3120, mint condition, at my local GC that I could have got yesterday for around $540 after tax, except I do not like red guitars, not even trans-red. This guitar was amazing and better than a 90s Ibby, imo.

I say get a Squier and save like 300 bucks for pr0n and other neccesities.

On a serious note, i have a Casino so i'm naturally going to be biased and say p90's but hey, it's about what you want, right?
G(g)od was like: "Make you an ark of gopher wood; rooms shall you make in the ark, and shall pitch it within and without with pitch."

And i was like: "What's gopher wood?"

I'd go with the Gibson of the two. Not saying I don't like Ibby, but I played one of the '60s SGs, and it can get a good tone for all the genres in your sig except deathcore, I think the satin finish feels great and it's got a nice, fast neck IMO(though some prefer the Wizard necks). But if you want a full-out floating bridge the Ibby's prolly the way to go. I just think the P90 Gibsons are great guitars for the money. Plus, resale value, lik W4RP1G said the Ibbys aren't going for much used, but that Gibson's a Gibson, and a limited run at that, so it's bound to be worth some money down the road if you ever want to sell it.

Nah, I prefer to tune lower. My tunings usually go into weird Hebrew symbols.

I've got a Gibson 60s with P90s (SG though) and it sounds like passionate sex.

Which is good.

i picked up my 3550MZ for under $700 new after tax, so i know i may find a crazy deal like that at another guitar center.

i love P90's and know how sexy they sound, with all of that harmonic saturation of one mixed in with a good amp.

i am probably thinking the gibson. although if the right thing pops up, it will be mine.

I'd go for the Gibson. Ibanez guitars at bargain prices pop up all the time. If you miss this one another three will show up the next day. Those 60s tribute LPs with P90s though? The preorders on those sold out in couple of weeks and there's not going to be another run of them for a long time, if at all. Even if you wind up not liking it you'll be able to resell it quickly and for almost all or maybe even for all of the money you paid for it.

Get the Gibson while you can.

Yeah they will probably be somewhat collectible like last years 50s tributes were. But then again, they sold so well Gibson may start doing it every year and then they won't be so rare.

I had to wait months and months to get my 60s Goldtop, but when I was at Guitar Center last weekend, there was one hanging on the wall.
