I have my six strings set and I am fairly happy with them. I am looking to move into the world of 7 strings. Could anyone recommend me a beginners level 7 string that isn't crap. In essence the cost of the guitar is low, but the quality is not. My budget isn't endless, so I don't want to buy a guitar and then regret it and be out a lot of money. Thanks in advance, and I hope to be in the 7 string army soon.

I'd recommend the used Ibanez route. Ibanez's sevens are really good entry level gear and they're a dream to play. I'd go for a used RG7421 or RG7621

If you're really impatient get an RG7321. Not as good as a 7421, but its not going to take you (in my case) months to track one down.

Exactly that. I have NEVER seen a 7421 or a 7621 on craigslist.

I've seen a single 7321.. But they can be had on Ebay for the cheaps I would assume.

I ended up getting a Jackson DR7 through trade. The fender I had was collecting dust so I traded it, through craigslist, to get the Jackson. Other than a need for new strings the Jackson plays pretty sweet. I am a big fan of 7 string guitars. I might look to Agile for my next one, maybe even go 8 string route.
