I plan on auditioning for a berklee summer program for teens or whatever, and I need help finding a good piece to play. I'm going for fusion.
Any recommendations?
Tony MacAlpine's a shred guitarist, but he sounds sorta fusion-y to me. Ghost Of Versailles is a really good song IMO, challenging but nothing impossible. Though I'm sure if you want impossible he's got that.

Nah, I prefer to tune lower. My tunings usually go into weird Hebrew symbols.
I don't know how prestigious or classy this piece has to be, but I would suggest something by Frank Zappa, maybe "Peaches en Regalia" or maybe even something by Jeff Beck, anything off of the "Blow by Blow" or "Wired" albums.

If you're going for guitar, that is.
Bands I've seen live:

Def Leppard
Alice in Chains
Foo Fighters
Rodrigo y Gabriela
For fusion, go for anything with Steffen Schackinger.
You MAY have to pay for tabs - I'm not sure though....

Please read around the Musician's talk subforum. They have a lot of resources for this.
