I just purchased my very first acoustic/electric guitar and was wondering if anyone had any recomendations for specific strings to use on the guitar?

I would also like to replace the strings on both of my acoustics. What are your favorite strings to use on acoustics?

and what strings should I use on my new acoustic/electric. Thanks!

My personal standard is D'addario regular extra light for electrics. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/daddario-exl110-nickel-light-electric-guitar-strings-single-pack/h71092000000000

They are even cheeper in bulk, and are easy to use and long lasting.

I would also recommend trying these if you are used to acoustic:

They are the same set but with a wound G, it may make the transition a bit easer for you, and (in my opinion) helps boost the midrange a bit on your guitar.

I use these for acoustics:

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I just ordered both of your suggestions for the acoustic/electric. I'm excited to give them a try.

I also ordered the light strings you suggested for acoustic. I was using D'Addario EXP17 (0.13-.056) which sounded great but I'm a fan of lighter strings as well.
