They look pretty promising, but I really haven't played any. I guess they're pretty awesome for the price! Basswood body, through body maple neck, EMG 81 & 85 set, Jackson FR tremolo.. Well, not bad for the price I'd say.

Duncan designed pickups, Floyd Rose Special. Probably not made in Japan(can anyone verify this?)

I feel like these were made to be direct competition to LTD's new bullshit 330 line. It's kind of the same deal - a really weird balance of high end and low end specs. Here's an example http://www.espguitars.com/guitars/ltd-standard-deluxe/h-330nt.html

^ That's just MSRP. It's probably gonna be like $350-400 in store.

They look nice, but i dislike basswood as they're so tonally bland.

I think these guitars are made in India like their JS series are to make them more affordable

You would probably need the nuetral qualities of basswood to balance out the brightness of a maple neck-thru.

Just about every other neckthrough Jackson builds uses alder wings along with the maple neck. I don't really know why they went with basswood this time. Probably they could get a cheaper supply.

And yes, these are made in India. There's not much info on people buying or using them yet, because they're only just out. I'd hazard a guess that a lot of preordered ones probably haven't shipped yet. I reckon one or two people have received them from Thomann, but in general they're only just starting to filter into the market.
