After months and months of going back and forth between several options, I finally treated myself to a new guitar for my upcoming 20th birthday.

Having played on nothing else but a cheap knockoff Strat of years and years, I wanted to define my sound with a higher end guitar. Eventually, the guitars I had my eyes on were either a Fender Telecaster, a Fender Jaguar or, the oddball of the three - a Schecter UltraCure.

Obviously, the title is self explanatory -

Being a huge fan of Robert Smith, I had my eyes on his signature as soon as I realized he actually had one. Eventually put off by the size of the guitar, the specs spoke for themselve, and as soon as I saw it in real life, I was taken.

Don't get me wrong - this guitar is absolutely HUGE, and makes my Strat look like a GuitarHero controller, but in no way this size is comical or impractical.
Pictures honestly don't do it justice, as the armcut in the upper left corner of the body really proportionizes the guitar.

The 24fret neck is absolutely stunning, with inlays which delight me every time I lay my eyes on them. The back of the neck is painted, which some might dislike, but I tend to prefer above an unpainted neck, and the neckprofile is wonderfull.
Not being as tall as this guitar might insinuate, I had absolutely no problem with the neck. I'v heard a complaint about Schecter's 'bassballbat-necks', but this is either a general misunderstanding, or not the case with this particular model.

As soon as I have played this guitar some more, I'll put up a review.
All I can say for now, is that this growls, whether playing 'Just like heaven' or 'Ball & Biscuit'.

I feel nothing but pride if I look down and see this on the back of my headstock -

Please let me keep this memory, just this one ..

It's all about the sound and the feel. If our fellow feels comfortable playing it and likes the sounds getting out of this freaky axe, that's the end of our discussion, since Schecters are premium axes and are universally acknowledged as very sturdy, well crafted, with high-grade components. In this price range, it's only a matter of taste.

ah is this one of those higher end schecters we cant get in the US? i dont really pay attention to their sig models so this might still be on their US site. either way, its quite unique and looks comfortable! nice score!

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

oh lol, not even close to what I thought it said. It looked to me like "the surf" or "the smurf" depending on what the little logo was. The guitar looks real good and strange. whats the knob combination?

Left to right, it's neck (push/pull) / bridge (push/pull) / master volume - all in a perfect triangle with the pupselecter ^-^

So it's almost Friday.....are you in love?

I'm smitten - only complaint is that it didn't come in limegreen and tangerine

The cleans are very sparkling and dreamy!
It has Seymour Duncan '59s in it, which can be coiltapped.
The sonic range is quite amazing
