clip of teh mazzive suckzorz. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1mfwRAflKw

Review.

Frets are low but not fretless wonder low. The neck is thin, but not ibanez thin. It's 60's thin.
It's fast, i've raised the action a little, reset the intonation and there is literally nothing you can't play on it. It actually sounds good for almost any kind of music but it doesn't sound like most guitars. One guy said it's like a twangy les paul.

The body is worn, dinged, finish cracked and I believe there is actually blood stains on it. They won't come off and are located in close proximity to the finger rippers. Maybe they really are finger rippers.

The tone is very 70's. Think live 70's rock that's neither a tele, strat or les paul standard.
Through any amp it just sounds like itself.

I was going to sell it and as soon as I listed it I had 50 offers for various trades. One immediate cash deal was proposed but he backed out as fast as he said "i'll take it!".
Then within a week there were 5-10 other early 70's LP Deluxes all over the net, craigslist, mylespaul, tgp etc.

Someone was telling me to keep it.

It kept calling me to touch her at night.

I kept touching her at night.

We got close and had a weekend vacation together for a jam session at a friends place.

None of my other guitars got jelly, they even seemed to enjoy watching as we played together.

Then the unthinkable happened.

I listed a PRS on ebay.

nobody likes me at BAM. I must be considered a traitor lol.

yea, it's like that.

the online guitar daters say it's a 1970-1972.
gibson says it's a 1970-1975.
the pots say it's a 1973.

i say, it's mine.

say hello to my guitar.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Nice Goldtop, sad to see the top in that shape its a little rough but still purdy, as mentioned they are mini humbuckers, but I do believe you can swap them out for soapbar P90s, I am not 100% with a lot of the vintage stuff but I believe the pickup surrounds on the mini humbuckers are larger and when all of it is fully removed you have enough room for P90s (I think) That Goldtop would look mighty fine with P90s in it, just sayin!

Kinda getting off off topic with gregs new gibby but I have no experience with mini buckers, as in I haven't played them because they aren't that common. Whats the difference between a mini and reg bucker?

What's a finger ripper?

the little pointers on the vol and tone pots. they stick up and are sorta sharp. players are known to rip their fingers on them. the blood stains are pruf.

no they have been "fall"ing for a week or so now.

i'll get it on a scale, i'm guessing 10.5 lbs. but the scale here doesn't register anything but half pounds. the one at my gals place is the one you see in the posts in this thread. it's way more accurate.

Never been a fan of mini-buckers, visually, but overall it seems pretty badass, sir.

thanks everyone.

the pups are great for clean and low dirt. i will try to get a video tomorrow and play some clean stuff so you can maybe get an idea of what they are about.

i know they aren't what you see here in EG of UG very often.

a proper tone test sample is in order but i will warn you that i'm sorta limited in my recording gear. so expect a crappy youtube vid.

#32
That is some tasty mahogany indeed. And dat finish checking... the mojo is strong with this one. Congrats!

HNGD!!
I love the look and sound of the minis and I just love the look of the beaten goldtop.
If I knew where you were keeping it I would probably steal it.

But since I have no idea where that may be you can safely enjoy your guitar.

WINNING!!

you dude are the official NGD-winner of 2011 on UG this is most definitly the best guitar i've seen on here this year. nothing beats a aged gold top with crackled finish.
HNGD! how are the mini-buckers on a les paul, i know love them on a firebird.

I considered a Les Paul with mini-humbuckers as well when I was about to buy a new guitar, but I didn't do it because I wanted it to handle every style, which I doubted about with the mini-humbuckers.
Soundclips would be awesome though.
HNGD, it surely is nice.
