So i have an all black guitar and i have been thinking about adding some color. I have come up with two options (one is way cheaper, but I am skeptical if it will work)

Option 1: Get two new Dimarzio sickly colored pups, i dont think i need new ones cause my stock ones are pretty hot and i use a multi effects. ($130)
Option 2: Get white humbucker covers and paint them http://www.allparts.com/Humbucking-Pickup-Covers-No-Holes-White-Plastic-p/pc-0303-025.htm ($5)

But will the covers touch the strings or affect the sound? Thanks

I got white bobbin toppers for my Ibanez, its got zebra pickup look now. I also bought new white plastic puckup rings to replace the black ones, but had to file one down as I bought the wrong size. I also replaced the black metal knobs with strat knobs. Guitar looks much better now IMO. And replaced the wee switch tip with a white strat one.

Those bobbin toppers look really cool! Do they snap on or are they like an adhesive? What material are they?

Yeah they are basically stickers. Paper thin, made of some sort of plasticy stuff I think. Not too hard to apply (best to take the strings off first though, I didnt) but will peel off if your pick tends to scrape across the pickup. Theyre wouldnt be expensive to replace though, especially as you dont have to pay for postage across the atlantic like I did.

Its very sad that not a single person has mentioned these two sites...

Both sites also sell pickup covers.

I'm liking that guitarheads site darkdevil! I kinda felt that if i were to replace my pups i would buy expensive ones with many choices (like dimarzio) but the GH ones sound pretty good.
Some sick knobs and other hardware too. Thanks!
