I have a friend that may sell me a Peavey Triumph 120 at lowest $75.
The thing is, is it worth putting up with an all tube, LOUD amp?
As in, I may have to replace tubes because it does some of the infamous crackling popping junk, and I need to find the 6 pin footswitch for it.
But it is 120 watts, and all tube, and tubes are all the hype...
in other words, is it a good amp, or garbage?

FOR $75??? BUY IT!!! Seriously, if you can get an all tube amp that cheap, it can't be all that bad. I'm not sure about this specific one, but it's only $75

I mean, I would love to have it, but I may have to put more into if the tubes are gonna go soon, which it works but has some odd noises every now and then, and I can't switch out of the distortion because I won't have the right foot switch to it.
But i'm sure that can all be adjusted with the gain settings.

Well even if the tubes are going bad you can use it and figure it out, then when you get some money just replace the tubes (you might only have to replace half the tubes which can save money) If I could of gotten my tube amp for 75bucks I would be jumping for Joy!

yeah triumphs are sweet, the beginning of the ultra line, which ended up with the jsx and 3120 and that lot. the footswitches can be had for cheap, and even if it needs tubes, thats still a good deal.
I'm just a kickin' and a gougin' in the mud and the blood and the beer.

Seriously TS, these amps go for $200, at the minimum. Even after a full retube, you could still make profit on it if you don't like it.

Alright guys. I'll take these suggestions into consideration.
I'll check it out more and see how it sounds, I'm hoping to nail a decent 80's metal sound at the most, if not some nice bluesy tones.
And you'll know if I got it via a NAD in the upcoming days. :P

Why is this even a question? Buy it.
So what if you have to buy tubes? That's like changing tyres on a car. At $75 who cares?

But if this is a 120 watt combo tube amp, with only 1 12" speaker (which, i imagine it's basically like a head, because it can plug into a cabinet also), how loud can this thing actually get?
