Someone around this forum picked up a custom Sandberg Jazz just recently and posted a glowing review of it. All in all, they are extremely well-made basses. They play and sound very good. They're on the pricey side, and they're a little hard to find in the U.S.A. If you can get your hands on one and it gives you the sound you're looking for, then by all means go for it. I think you'll be very happy with it.

Very well built instruments, and they are well recommended by the Bass magazines (glowing reviews) - but when I played one I was a bit disappointed by the end sound.

I have a feeling it was something to do with the strings, and other forums have agreed. The feel of the neck was superb though.
