For me its:

1) I'm atheist. This would greatly unsettle everyone in my family.

2) I don't like Death Cab for Cutie. Oh my God, my friends got so butt hurt when I would say anything negative about them. Now I pretend like they've grown on me.

Edit:

3) Also drugs I guess. But that's a given.

I feel you on #1 dude. My dad and I are atheists and we can't bring up the subject to the rest of his family or they'd probably sever all ties.

It's kinda sad honestly.

Religious views. Drug usage. Political views. Basically everything that would cause unnecessary conflict.

I personally believe death is a natural thing and we shouldn't fear it, I told that once to my mom and she freaked out so I avoid from talking about it.

Apparently some people think that not fearing death means you're immediately going to go out and kill yourself.

Apparently some people are idiots (or at least have an extremely poor ability to react sensibly to most situations).

Correlation?

Not much, really. My family just tends to allow one another to do whatever we want. None of us are religious either, so there's nothing to worry about there. (My mum is pretty spiritual, but she accepts the fact that I don't take to it personally.)

It's a pretty lenient household.

I don't tell anybody in my family that I am becoming a licensed boxer. I just tell them I am going to the gym (which is technically true, just a boxing gym...) and they don't ask questions when I get slimmer and stronger haha my mother hates that I even enjoy watching boxing because "getting the shit beat out of you shouldn't be a sport."

Long story short, she has no idea I'm already halfway there...
#10
im of the opinion that religious beliefs (or lack of) shouldn't be something to be ashamed of, i mean honestly, im open about being an atheist and no one seems to be hateful, and my whole family on my moms side is strict catholic. i guess its all about how you present yourself.

anyways, i don't tell my mom that i look up porn, but that's to save myself from embarrassment.

1. I can't tell anyone about my Atheist beliefs, not just loved ones.

2. I can't tell them I'm attracted to boys who look like girls.

3. I can't tell them I've smoked weed

4. I can't tell them I'm not a virgin.

I can't tell anyone that I want to kill my mom because I cant stand to see her suffer from her disease. Oh and my musical ideas, not straight compositions I've made but more like album concepts and theories. Nothing really much besides that.

That in my opinion, there is no "ultimate judgement".

You can kill a fly with no friends/relatives just like that and nobody gives a shit cause nobody would know/care about the fly. Replace "fly" with "human" and "ohmygawd you're going to hell".

I always come out a psycho on personally tests, but really it's just seeing an implication which most others choose not to.

OT: I can't tell my black democratic family that I despise them for blindly voting and supporting Obama on the premise of his skin color.

I'm a 19 year old college student and I can't bring myself to tell my family I'm not a virgin.

I wouldn't dare let my family know I smoke weed, I'd be ostracized.

Not much, really. My parents are extremely open minded and I don't really do things that I should keep hidden from them. It's not like they don't know what happens on monday/thursday/saturday nights . Now that I think of it, I have an extremely good relation with my parents.

Seriously considering getting them removed, but on the other hand they might be useful like you said. Plus having them makes me UNIQUE.

Of course my sex life, this can’t be shared to them. I also have the tendency to be gay, can’t figure it out yet.

That I have somehow befriended people over the internet.
I shall grant you three wishes.

None of which will work.

Does the above post enrage, offend or confuse you?

Good.

I like my women how I like my guitars. Curvy and like it when I finger them.

I don't see why telling I'm an atheist would cause problems. At least not here. If they're untolerant, it's their problem.
I don't talk about my (lack of) sex life, what I watch on the internet, and there would be a few other things. Nothing special, really.
Not sure if a sig is a necessity.

This.

TS you lie to your friends about liking a certain band. That's sad. Get new friends. Who knows what else you'll have to lie to them about so you can be "friends" with them.

As for you teens who have to keep your religious views a secret. That's ok. But at some point when you're older you have to come clean. If they're making you go to church when you don't want to, it's not really your life.

They are kinda dumb with music, total "Music is my life" types.

I love them though. Its a small price to pay.

And I don't go to church or anything. They just think I believe in stuff.
#36
Why do you people hide who you are to your family? That's some fake immature bs right there. Do you actually believe what you believe? Or do you just think you do so that you can be cool to your friends?

For you younger ones you do realize that if you have opinions on things that your parents consider wrong you can present them in a non-confrontational and intelligent manner. They won't like it. But will probably accept it. You might get kicked out of the house if you are over 18, but you should be out anyways. At least you won't feel like you're treading on thin ice anymore.

My family knows almost everything about me. They are close minded but ask about me anyways and I tell it like it is. There are topics I avoid because we know my views and opinions clash. Those topics are:

-Politics.
-Religion.
-My views on male/female relationships, I believe monogamy is unnatural.
-Guitar playing styles (with my dad, he is HUGE on one specific style, very brand loyal and is a genuine asshole to anybody not sharing his opinions on this stuff.)

The only thing they genuinely do not know is my heavy use of psychedelics in the past. And how much I actually sleep around. They know enough that they do not want to inquire more. Oh and apparently they used to think I was an alcoholic but honestly I only really drink once or twice a month. Even then it's usually 4 beers at most and only because I'm grilling or at a baseball game where that's part of the experience.

Yeah that's bullshit. Anything out of their comfort zone and they just assume the worst possible position is your position. Sheep fear what they do not know.

That's extremely untrue, just because your family is tolerant on the matter doesn't mean that everyone's families are. When people believe that non-believers go to hell which is a place of eternal suffering, it's understandable that they would be very distraught if their son or daughter did not believe in the same thing.

While I'll agree with you on the first part, it's not practical or just by any of society's standards and most people's moral standards to kill something as equally or close to equally intelligent and sentient like a human except in a case of dire circumstances such as self defense or warped circumstances such as warfare. If you're not bothered and see no problem with killing people no one knows/cares about, I wouldn't just blow it off as "seeing an implication which most others choose not to."

psychopath.
