Well, here we go again. Another metal, death metal, whatever you'd like to call it-song.

EDIT: This is a new mix, with better balanced bass and a much better kick drum. It also has a new snare.

It's recorded like this:

ESP Horizon -> ENGL e530 -> Behringer UCG102 -> Guitarhack impulses -> Reaper
The bass is Spectrasonics Trilian and the drums are Superior Drummer 2.0.
I've mastered it with iZotope Ozone.

Thanks in advance!

Bass is definitely too high in the mix, but apart from that it is sounding pretty good. Snare could maybe be a little fatter/louder and cymbals could maybe be a little quieter but that's just my preference really. Riffs are pretty solid and fit well together. Are you planning to have vocals over it?

C4C one of my demos? My playing is really sketchy in it and the production is pretty lame too.

i really like the song. i think its well structured, it flows from one peice of the song into another almost effortlessly. the guitar and drums seem to be working as a team both alternating at parts to keep the excitement. i would say its a well constructed 3 minutes of music.

i'm in no position to comment on the mix though as my speakers are nowhere near the best.

Thanks for your comment!

The song writing in your song is superb, I really like it. The production is, well, subpar. It's very fizzy and the drums sound clicky at times. Could do with a little bass, wanna borrow some of mine?

Sounds pretty sweet! My one complaint would be this weird almost clap-sounding thing going on throughout. I'm pretty sure its either the drums or the bass, just an artifact of the MIDI sound. It doesnt take away from the music though, it's just there kinda haha. Fantastic guitar work though, very impressive!

Yeah, it's not very well produced. I mostly record quickly and pretty much on the fly so I usually leave programming bass til much later on. Thanks for the crit on my writing though!

i commented on your track on the soundcloud page.
also, i'd like to again emphasise how good the guitar playing and recording was, and maybe you should play around with the setting of superior drummer a bit more to get a less "sterile" sounding tone.
overall, it was very interesting and enjoyable to listen to. well done! i suggest some solos in the future

I'm working on a new mix, the bass has gone down a bit and the kick has gone up.

I've been playing around a bit with Superior, but I'm quite new at it. It does sound a bit sterile.

Taclite,
I agree the bass is too loud. Not sure if turning the bass down would help the bass/kick drum (it sounds odd to me). Otherwise, the playing is tight. Could use some vocals, as it sounds a bit repetitive at times. Riffs are good. I own Superior Drummer also, and never heard the kick drum sound like that. Please review my music at this link:

Thanks for your comment. I've made a new mix, with lower bass, a new snare and a better kick sound.
