I play a strat SSS.

I want a 'Radio Moscow' sound.

These are the pedals I have been offered. Which one?

Earthquaker Devices Dream Crusher
Blackout effectors musket fuzz
Fuzz face clone
EHX Muff with tonewicker
Pharaoh fuzz
Green muff clone
Russian black muff

Thanks, Luke.

Earthquaker Devices Dream Crusher--- good.
Blackout effectors musket fuzz--- modified muff good.
Fuzz face clone--- not a muff at all
EHX Muff with tonewicker--- crap muff
Pharaoh fuzz--- good muff.

hard to tell which one to take when we know nothing about what you want.

I'm not after just a muff and I clearly said I'm after a 'Radio Moscow' sound.

I don't care if you don't like me...no one wanted to help me and I got taken the piss out of.

Thanks for the help I suppose

You should find that band on MySpace or Facebook and email them asking what fuzz he uses. You would be surprised how many musicians will write you back and tell you exactly what they use. It's worth a shot and if they reply, then you know exactly what to get.

Thanks man I'll give it a go

I need a fuzz for this week so need to choose one anyway but I want to try loads of fuzz out so will be buying more in the future.

Have you any opinions on it mate? I'm thinking the musket, pharaoh or the fuzz face clone

Thanks

Why? Why not the fuzzface clone?

They seem to be more distortion like? Am I wrong?

Cheers

made by who? using what? it could be made by god or it could be made by some chump in a bedroom.

I just listened to some radio moscow. I don't think a big muff or big muff clone is what you want.

I'm not sure that a Muff-based fuzz will be that good for that sound either (btw good band choice; I love Radio Moscow). I'm not sure what your budget is, but a Zvex Fuzz Factory might be a good choice. Also, I'd recommend a Fulltone Ultimate Octave too. I have one and I can get a good RM tone out of the "Thick" voicing and plus it has an octave up feature.

doubt it

Why? I've never played one so I'm genuinely curious, but I thought a mid-heavy setting into a slightly driven amp would sound pretty good for the style he's going for.

it's the same god damn thing, it's clipping the signal. nuff said

well because zvex pedals aren't the best, you can get a clone for under 100 bucks.

ask a builder nicely for a fuzz face and big muff in one pedal, profit.

because it's very touch sensitive and only has a couple of useable settings. It's great for fun and unusable noises and sounds, but if you want to make music with it you are better off getting something else for less money.

Yeah I used a fuzz factory and didn't like it atall. Cheers though.

Before I saw these replies I bought one of the pedals...

Thank god everyone said a muff WASN'T what I was looking for as I got the fuzz face

And yeah, Radio Moscow are so good!

I saw pics of Radio Moscow with the guitarist using a regular Black Russian Big Muff. Google might help.

Wait, can someone tell me how a muff fuzz differs from a regular fuzz?
R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio. Supplied amazing music to both me and my mother.

He will be missed.
