Here is a really bad song by me:

It’s pouring out the radio,
And blazing off the screen.
The news of what was warned about,
Of what we should have seen.
Everybody knew, this day was coming,
Except the dicks who thought,
That it was a conspiracy
Or that their god would save us all.
We all knew our actions,
Would have consequences.
And now all of this bullshit,
Is on our consciences.

So Now the whole damn world,
Is coming to an end,
The meteors are crashing,
And the streets are dead again.
The glaciers are melting,
The rivers rising up,
But stop the finger pointing,
Because we ALL screwed it up.
We could have done something
But we just didn’t stop,
Because it wasn’t convenient,
Now were conveniently ****ed.

And while all this shit, really kind of sucked.
There was still a silver lining, hidden in the mucky muck.
Because while running, and hiding from my fears,
I ran into you for the first time in 10 years.
We talked and laughed as we forgot, about the heavy burden,
And you reminded me, of times I had forgotten.
We didn’t care long how was left, until the planet shattered.
‘Cause we could do anything and it wouldn’t really matter.

And as everyone is praying
For all the good that’s gonna do
I’m Im sittin here glad
I could have a laugh with you.

Have you listened to the Bowie song "Five Years"? The bit about running into someone you knew reminded me of that.
I really like the "pouring out the radio and blazing off the screen", nice words
