Silly question but what is the difference (sound, options, price or other) between a head + cab vs. a combo amp? Why would someone buy one over the other?

I am trying to decide which road to go down but am confused as the differences?

I play mostly metal. Is one type better for different styles?

Thanks,

Head + cab:
- Easier to transport (better to lug around a 30 kilo head and a 50 kilo cab than an 80 kilo combo with one handle, right?)
- Takes in more space
- When you want a different amp, you can keep the cab and get a different head.
- More expensive
- Have 'cooler' looks
Combo:
- Cheaper
- Smaller but heavier

Also, if you want us to recommend you some amps, give us the following information:

So for the home player not too concerned with "cool" factor, a combo sounds like the way to go? Say a Jet City JCA2112 or a Traynor JCV50? I have a few pedals and play mostly metal... Have a Line 6 IV 15 (Eeeekkkk) now... Lookin to replace.
