Well, can't be best at everything I suppose.
I mean, we're already doing pretty well with alcohol consumption, teen pregnancies, and obesity

Second. Gender-adjusted ranking is unsurprising. Still alot of improvements that need to be made, there's been a decline from previous years in alot of the index numbers which is worrying.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to put it, along with your other advice, into a book, the pages of which I will then use to wipe my ass.

We were 16th in 2006. In 5 years we have dropped 12 places. Nice going Blair & Cameron

But the USA would not score high on the environmental scale too. So where the **** did they get their points? Average income?

That's what I'm thinking.

I mean, I know we aren't some backwards-ass 3rd world country, but we have our fair share of major problems.

The HDI calculation is based on life expectancy, access to knowledge (mean & expected years of schooling) and GNI per capita. Everything else covered in the report should basically be additional information on other topics, correlations, implications, etc.

The rankings will, obviously, be flawed to some extent, which is already reflected in the inequality adjusted rankings.

I think it's funny because the brits are hating on the US. Ever since 1776...
#32
It basically described the correlations between different types of environmental problems and HDI. Environmental problems don't directly affect the HDI if I'm not wrong.

I'd think the main reason is that Israel is backed by the entire developed world.
