I've found that they wont accept that at a lot of clubs and pubs.
They're legally required to, afaik. Every time mine hasn't been recognised, they check the list of official UK IDs and its been fine.

I use my electoral card. The bouncers fucking hate it, but it gets me in most of the time.

Accepted most everywhere.

That card's a pile o' shite. What a waste of money it was. I bought one when I lost my provisional, and absolutely NOWHERE accepted it. And one of the places I went to was even down on the site as a place that gives discount to CitezenCard holders.

I used my Visa debit card as an ID at pubs and so on when I visited London last week. I don't have anything apart from that and a passport which I can use as an ID.

Young scot cards should be accepted, but they are always declined.

The fuck is that?

Oh I see you are indeed young. And a Scotsman.

Become a regular of the drinking hole you wish to enter, and get recognised by the bouncers. I attended the Uni Tav once before becoming a regular (I'm quite recognisable, and the bouncer is a lad)

How does that work? I mean, it doesn't have your date of birth, or a picture or anything really.

But that's not ID Theres is nothing on a Visa debit to show that you are the person it says on the card.

EDIT: I should also add that whilst a debit card isn't issued to under 18s for credit reasons, an electron can be given out to any age, it's not just some under 18s version of a debit card.

To to person who said the same thing above this post.

I know

I was just stating that you're above 18 with a Visa Debit, i can't see it being common knowledge among bouncers so i wouldn't advise trying it

Not really. The owners of the pub/club have every right to refuse entry to anyone.
Well they're legally required to acknowledge that you're over 18 when they turn you away.

Birth certificate.

While it works as some form of ID, I know a guy who tried to use his birth certificate to get a drink at a pub and they laughed him out of the place.

Provisional Driving Licenses apparently work, I know a guy who uses his all the time. They cost about £50 though.

N.I. card.

N.I. cards aren't ID. It says that on the front of them. And I'm not sure about birth certificates either.

It has a picture of my ugly mug, as well as some basic information, e.g. date of birth, personal ID, etc.

Your bank card has your face and your personal information on it? It will have your name on it, but nothing else.

Firstly, Electrons are for 13+, and thus have no ID on them, and secondly, I'm using a different bank.

You're from Manchester; how do you think you know more about my bank card than I do?

My first card, a Visa Electron, didn't have anything though; not even a number.

Well, because i deal with cards every day, from different countries, and i've never seen a card with anything other than the standard information. Having a picture and date of birth and all that on a bank card can easily lead to identity theft, and as such, i'm having a real hard time believing that Visa would use such things on their cards. Dosen't matter what bank you have, as long as you're using Visa Electron, it will be the same card as anyone elses, just with your banks logo on it.

This. I had one briefly before my provisional. Waste of money. Technically having a legal ID doesn't mean much when dick bouncers decide they only want licences or passports.
Dude, where's my band?
