I have no fx loop in my old marshall. I wana run delay and reverb into it and am usig distortion fom the amp and cleaning it up by switching channels or rolling volume back. How will the delay and reverb effects sound like with no fx loop. Will they still go at the end of the chain? Thanks

they will still sound fine, and yes they usually go at the end.

Piano dick had some good parts, but should have said "As the business man slowly gets boned", would have accented the whole dick feeling of the album

if your using preamp distortion it might not sound so clear and defined ad might get muddy

but if most of your distortion comes form pedals it might sound better
and experiment with different position in your chain osme positions might osund better than others

i've found using reverbs without an fx loop using the amps distortion tends to distort the reverb. Using the clean channel and a distortion pedal would help
