The most important thing is that you actually sound good/can put on a good show.

You can probably play. Try to keep the ratio about 3:1 for originals and covers respectively in your set.

So your saying you have 9 songs in total ? That gives you about 30mins of show what will you do for the rest of the time? you could try open mic nights or opening for another band..

I would say showmanship >= how you sound >= enthusiasm >= what songs you play. You shouldn't be on the stage if you can't put on a good show. Period.

Go for it, my band was giggin' well before we were actually any good or had any songs that were longer than two minutes.

The rest of the time? I've never had a gig where we were allotted more than 45 minutes, and that included set-up/tear down.

^ weird. We usually play from an an hour to an hour and a half. but i agree you should find a band to open for
