I usually just leave reverb to what's built into the amp or plugins when recording/mixing, but I came across this and can probably snag one cheaply. Any thoughts on this unit for arty alternative and shoegaze type stuff (Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine)?

Do you already have a rack setup? If not then I wouldn't get one for just a verb. Just find a good reverb pedal.

Unlike its big brothers the Microverb is a bit of a tone sucker unless you run it in a parallel loop.
