I know there's probably loads of threads about this, but I couldn't find one on the search, anyway, I'm heading over to the States in a couple of years, and I'm looking at getting a telecaster.

My plan is to take a cheapo guitar (£40) or so, leave it there and come back with the tele.
So:
1) What are the problems with this?
2) Can customs screw me over?
3) How else could I get around it? (I considered taking a squire neck with me and paying reduced tax, as it would look like a cheaper model.)

Thanks.

Cover the case in stickers to make it look loder, my mate managed a prs custom and it was like half price from the states, bargain. Just be confident or you'll get a cavity search lol.

Probably not, just tell them that you're taking the guitar to practice while you're away

They probably wouldn't care........IMHO.
The easiest way to get around it is to buy one new/used where you are unless you're in one of those places where everything is ridiculously overpriced.

But don't count on anyone to remind you "in a couple of years"

She will join the prom.

She insists to wear this lights.

I don't think so.

How can I persuade her?
