Well, I can do super fast pentatonic runs. I've become bored with it because, well, they're pentatonic runs (I say pentatonic, but it can be diatonic as well.)
So I've been experimenting with only playing melodies as solos. Not the melody of the song (though I may sample,) but just stuff you would sing. No pentatonic runs.
But now I wanna speed it up again, because, well, crowds love the 84525-notes-per-second runs. And I love crowds. So anybody got tips for playing and thinking super fast and improvising fast lines that are actually melodies, not just scale runs?

Ive heard stories and rumours of people using hamsters that way (or was it gerbils?) and I'll have to say that I find it both hilarious and repulsive at the same time.

Sorry hamsters are just not my cup of tea.
I'm the only player to be sponsered by 7 guitar companies not to use their products.
