I need some nice music to sleep to that's metal in personality not in sound, like dark acoustic music or orchestral music. What do you guys use?
Obsession! Obsessive! Obsessed! Abscess!

The albums 'Ghost' and 'Ki' from Devin Townsend Project! They are soo relaxing that you can't believe it! Pink Floyd and Coheed and Cambria also fits well even if they have distorted guitars and stuff.

Have to agree with Ki and ghost by Devin Townsend to go to sleep to just beautiful albums. Maybe Burzum...after all Varg claims it is music to fall asleep to... if you can suffer the harsh distortion....

/British accent

Well it blocks out your ears dunnit?

Yann Tiersen, I think. Haven't heard all his songs, but the soundtrack for Amelie has some soothing songs.

I'd listen to them while I sleep, but I'm not sure I like looking I just had a wet dream.

LOL..that sounds about right though.

How abt the Mantle album from Agalloch?
or what I am listening to right now Savatage - Exit Music

I don't really sleep while the music is playing but these are very relaxing pieces.

Agalloch-The White

Ulver-Kveldssanger

Skepticism-Stormcrowfleet (not acoustic, but great nonetheless)

Empyrium-Weiland

I second Godspeed You! Black Emperor

That should do for now.

I went to sleep to my black metal collection last night. It was really relaxing.

I've fallen asleep to Hvis on multiple occasions late at night, usually part way through Tomhet. Works pretty well actually.

Also, Godspeed.

I fell asleep to Hvis last night. Every single time I drift off halfway through the second track, miss Inn I Slottet, wake up halfway through Tomhet thoroughly creeped out and then go to sleep. Works a treat!

Could have just asked for dark acoustic, really.

Electric Wizard's Dopethrone is a good one, though it is certainly metal in sound and personality.

I like just putting on Tomhet, and drifting off. Its very suitable to just laying in the dark

HAHAHAHAHAHA So damn true!

Here is a list of albums ive fallen a sleep to in the past:

Manowar - Louder Than Hell
Immortal - At the Heart of Winter
Bathory - Blood Fire Death
Slayer - God Hates Us All
#26
How the shit can you fall asleep to any of those albums?? I suppose God Hates Us All could club you over the head with massive bats constructed of nothing but chugga wugga riffs, and send you to sleep that way. If I really want to get to sleep, I put on a youtube documentary about capital gains tax or some shite, and im gone within minutes.
Quote by Ultraussie
I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

0-0-0-13-0-0-0-0-13 or something like that alalalala but It;s so heavy and off time and awesome and you could not f**k anyone to it.

I also do not recommend sleeping to Gorguts. You don't want to wake up to the end of Sweet Silence.

Planet's Suite by Gustav Holst. Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber. Electric Tears by Buckethead. Anything by Om. The Eye of Every Storm by Neurosis. Alot of post-metal or rock would work really.

Godspeed You Black Emperor - East Hastings.

And both of these.
In my heart I'm with you

Some of my favorite albums to play late at night are:

Drudkh - Blood In Our Well
Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast
Exodus - Bonded By Blood
Darkthrone - Under A Funeral Moon
Cirith Gorgor - Unveilling The Essence
Trouble - Psalm 9
Taake - Nastesfid Ser Porten Vid
Shape Of Despair - Angel Of Distress

I tried sleeping to Painkiller last night, and, needless to say, it didn't work.
Well, I think I'll go turn myself off an' go on down
All the way down...
Really ain't no use in me hanging around
You know what I'm trying to say
Music, sweet music
I wish I could caress, and-a kiss
Manic Depression is a fustrating mess
