We only have so many chords to work with...

Em, G, C, D ----------------> You may add extensions to your hearts content.

With this you create your verse and chorus.

Only from your bridge can you vary out into key changes and transposed chorus lines, etc.

I think it would be interesting to see a few peoples takes on this... working with the same chords... different orders for some... how will the melody be? Will two of us have similar results, etc etc.

No backtrack, compose your own you lazy bastards

Anyone up for it?

- Do I have too use each chord for the verse and chorus respectively?
- Can I use slash chords and/or inversions? Personally I think not, cause this makes it quite easier.
- only extensions or also alterations? (ie sus variations)

@Darren: you have a "choice" of those four chords, hehe... slash chords and inversions allowed, alterations and extensions allowed... as long as its function is still the appropriate chord. Don't have to use them in the order given... it can be any order... and it can be 3 chords or 4 chords... its your only choice for the verse "and" chorus.

@liamp... yeah... no diminished allowed... sorry bud... you can save it for your bridge though

Good to have you guys on board... been a while since we had a jam on this here forums thingamajiggy...

PS... griff... stop bitching but I do feel bad for ya man, but this one will be a cinch for you man... It screams 80's big hair chords... n stuff, hehehe.

I would love to participate if I had any more free time. Perhaps when I get my school duties done I can make a quick song. Keep this thing alive!

I didn't have much time so here's what I made, just to make this thread a bit more lively. I didn't realize you could change the order of the chords
