I am on my way to buy a yr 2000 two channel dual recto I found on craigslist. I've never owned a half stack and know little to nothing about REAL amps. Is there anything I should be on the look out for? Just to be sure I don't drop $900 on an amp that will break down on me two days later.

I appreciate any and all help. Thank you.

Tweak all the knobs. If you hear any scratchy noises then the amp may have a bad pot.

Check for excessive piercing feedback. It could be a bad preamp tube.

Mesa amps, though, are generally tanks. You probably won't have much of a problem with it.

Well, I did get to play it, and I ran a few pedals, and it sounded superb. I may not know much about amp heads, but this thing looked next to brand new. It even came with all of the original papers, manuals, stickers, and receipt! It was love at first sight.

I appreciate all of the help, and I can't wait to post my new gear day.
