eBay sells disassembled floyd roses for like 20 bucks!

Are they really that hard to put together?

Would it be worth it to buy one?

I'm sure if you had instructions you could, but I know I sure wouldn't want to try to piece one together.

They're really easy to take apart and assemble, not a lot to them, just need to do some final tweaks after for the intonation etc. I can't see them being up to much at that price though.

How about a link? I might need one for a guitar I'll be making.

You get shims for them to alter the heights otherwise they're all level the way most modern guitar necks are at the high end. If you're trying to use one with a strat for instance then you fit shims to raise the middle saddles, still very easy to assemble.

First, if you're getting a floyd rose for $20 (disassembled or not) it's going to be a piece of crap. Second, not that hard to put together.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

This. I wouldn't be surprised if it was made from tin foil if it was a $20 floyd.

just shell out for a decent LFR. you wont regret it.

The only real answer to the SG vs Les Paul debate is to get a Flying V and laugh at all the suckers who don't have one.

if you embrace inaccurate intonation it can be quite arousing.

the floyd rose in that link wasn't disassembled... it was fully assembled waiting to be installed on a guitar...

So you dont have to assemble it, just install it, which is not hard. However, I would only go an original floyd rose, personally, not a licensed one.

Gotoh LFRs pwn. If you don't want to shell out for an OFR I'd get one TS.
