hey dudes

what are some quick and easy mods for a novice?
like wiring a killswitch...
or adding a coil tap.

You could put stickers on your guitar...

OT: What exactly are you modding and why?

im looking for ideas, of easy mods...that someone with little or no experience can pick up.

But why? If you want to do something really easy just for the sake of doing it, I don't see the point. But what guitar do you have anyway?

You can do the 50's wiring mod if you have a tone control?

What's the point of this, and what guitar are you wanting to do mods on?

whats the point? the point is to mod out my guitar(s) because i want different unique sounds
and i think its fun pulling apart things and playing with them.

i have a a homemade guitar, with a humbucker in the bridge postiton.
also a kramer pacer which does have a tone control

A great place to start is to look at easy wiring diagrams. Seymour Duncan has a great page for this. It's all shone 'as you'd see it. First practice soldering. Getting the hang of that first will keep you from making mistakes that may cost you in the long run.

My personal favorite is the spin-o-split. Instead of just the thin nasty sound of half a humbucker you can add a bit of beef to it and get some really good single coil sounds.
Good luck with this! Looking forward to hearing what you've done.
I'm an expert on all of them. Even the ones I made up.

Dirt and fertilizer. TS9DX. Fulltone 70's, Vox Brit boost, Mesa V-twin and a DLS. Everything grows better with lots of dirt.
