So I have the Turtle Beach PX21 gaming headset. Recently, I started hearing a dead spot, where I could wiggle the cord, and the sound would short in and out. So I took apart the volume pot thingy that houses the circuit board, and all the soldering connections look perfect. Does that mean the cord is becoming pulled apart somewhere? And if that's the case, can I just cut the cord at the dead spot, strip the insulation, reconnect the wires, and put some electrical tape on it? I'm pretty much a n00b at this, so any help is appreciated.
