I thought it'd be fun to try this out and see if we can guess what the top 5 albums from P4K (Pitchfork for you non-hipsters) will be this year.

My guess is
1. Bon Iver - Bon Iver
2. James Blake - James Blake
3. M83 - Hurry UP, We're Dreaming
4. Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
5. PJ Harvey - Let England Shake

1. The Beach Boys - The SMiLE Sessions (This one is a given if it counts)
2. Bon Iver - Bon Iver
3. Girls - Father, Son, Holy Ghost
4. James Blake - James Blake
5. M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming

I'd be surprised if they didn't throw some hipster hop in there, so let's throw Black Up or Take Care in there.

1. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin

3. Deep Purple - Deep Purple
4. Kansas - Kansas
5. Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle

Calling it.

I haven't been very caught up with P4K's BNM most of the year, but I'd say

1. James Blake - S/T
2. St Vincent - Strange Mercy
3. WU LYF - Go Tell Fire to the Mountain
4. M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming
5. Laura Stevenson & the Cans - Sit Resist
#5
They've not even reviewed Sit Resist iirc. Y'know this shit is fuckin' ridiculous.

Bon Iver will be in the top 5 for sure, they gave it a 9.5, which is like the highest this year, leaving out the reissues and stuff.

Bon Iver and Beach Boys will certainly be on there. Probably Drake as well, they like him a great deal. If I worked for Pitchfork I would just put In The Aeroplane Over the Sea at the top of every list. Regardless of which list it is.

Im pretty sure they'd put OK Computer or Kid A on top if the could. They are obsessed with them.

They only put new albums on the list.

Edit: but yes, you can be sure they'll give it a 10 and BNR.

Well, just going by the scores they gave, the top 5 would look like this:

1. Bon Iver (9.5)
2. Girls (9.3)
3. M83 (9.1)
4. James Blake (9.0)
5. St Vincent (9.0)

The only people I can really see challenging that list are Kurt Vile, Gang Gang Dance and EMA.

1. Bon Iver - Bon Iver
2. Destroyer - Kaputt
3. M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming
4. PJ Harvey - Let England Shake
5. Girls - Father, Son, Holy Ghost

Bon Iver being #1 doesn't surprise me; Kaputt being #2 kinda does. Not that I think it's a bad album, I just didn't expect it to be put so high. LIFE GOES ON.

Destroyer was a pleasant surprise. I thought it was f*cking amazing.

PJ harvey seemed kind of random though...

The NMH box set is gonna be #1, I'm callin' it now.

The NMH box set hasn't even been really released yet.

I think Eye Contact should've been somewhere in the Top 10. That album. Ohmyfawkingawd
