This might seem stupid, but I'm having quite a problem deciding whether I should get a 3ft or a 6ft speaker (head-cab) cable. On the one hand, I have enough feet of tangling wires already, but on the other hand, I don't want to accidentally rip out my amp's output jack.

Get the 6' cable. You might not think you need it now but you will be thankful in the future if you get it over the 3' (I certainly am).

I bought a 3ft, and then one day I realized I could lower stage volume by tilting the cab backwards (2x12), but the 3 footer was too short to relocate the head somewhere else. Got the 6ft, and was able to move the head off to the side or on the ground.
