for some reason my microphone input on my computer decided to crap out on me. i've been through all the ropes and haven't been able to find a way to get it to start working again. i know that there's a way to turn the mic jack into a headphone jack, but is there a way to turn the headphone jack into a mic jack? i've got two on my laptop and have never used the second one, it would me much more useful as a mic input.

You'd be much better off buying a proper interface if you need to link up to your computer.

^that.

And AFAIK it isn't possible, since input and output of audio should require fairly different circuitry.
