I know a lot of you guys hate Line 6 with unbridled passion, but...

I'm going to get a DT25 combo and an HD500. Is there any reason I should keep the M13?

It's my understanding that the HD500 has all the effects the M13 has, plus more. So, not really.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

only if you are really REALLY into fx-heavy music. the hd500 is limited by its DSP and fx blocks, a good portion of both will be neccessary to dial in the basic tones juuust right, obviously leaving you with fewer blanks for textural fx.
like i said though, with the dt also factored in, you've got to REALLY want to use a lot of fx to validate the need of the m13.
