I traded an old Rick for an old Shereton, I have always used slinkies lime on a guitar, sounds great on my standard rig, sounded fine on the Rick, sound like crap on Shereton. I have no other way to descripe it but it seems the sound is now missing the greens and blues that it should have. The strings are crisp but no end wham, if that makes sense better. I am not looking for gage, I am looking for brand. I am wondering if I should try Dean Markley? Any ideas?

the thing about strings is they are cheap, so you can try em all man. that is the only way to find what's right for you+your guitar

If you're noticing THAT big of a change in your sound then I would start to consider more things then just the strings...

But as T7E said, strings are cheap as shit so try out a bunch.

Thanks for answering. I talked to a guy at the music store and he said I need to replace the nut. I would have not thought of something like that since it had sounded fine before I changed the strings. But that is when it must have shifted. Thanks again.
