im making a rack amp ive got a mesa boogie studio preamp and getting a marshall 1960 bv cab. but im not sure what power amp to go with (tube or ss wise) will i get that tube sound from the tubes in the pre amp or is most of that sound in the power amp?

whats some good models of power amps

A lot of the sound is from the power amp, especially if you turn it up. Go tube to do justice to your preamp.

They don't often come any better. A tube power amp in the megaton range! The thing truly is fantastic, but don't try to get any power tube distortion out of it. You'll end up obliterating a small island nation.
