Hi, I'm looking to buy 2 new sets of humbucker puckups. A set for a custom explorer i am building and a set for an SG. I'm looking for some with a classic rock crunch but be versatile enough to cope with rock and Heavy metal. A am not very keen on EMG's btw. Any Suggestions?
thanks Kurt

what's your amp?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Limitless budget, I am using my school bursary to pay for it My Amp Is an Ibanez toneblaster, however the sound from it is fantastic. I keep it on a clean channel, all distortion comes from a Marshall Jackhammer stompbox.

Using money that isn't yours?

Toneblaster sounds fantastic?

I suggest Klon, actually no.

Buy an MG and kill yourself.

I read this so much on UG. Classic denial. Can't you use your school's budget for a good amp?

Anyway, for pickups, I'm thinking an SD Custom 5/'59 set.

It's not denial, I could afford another amp like a Marshall or Mesa, but why bother when the toneblaster sounds as I want it to. I wouldn't use it if it sounded like shit would I? But yes thanks, will look into the SD's

+1, if the amp suggestion doesn't take (which it probably won't ) and you want to stick to the big names
