Im using a 1/8 in to 1/4 in adapter to plug my guitar into my phone and I can record this way but I'm still getting extra background noise from the built in mic on the phone. Anyone know of a way to disable it???

This is going to sound stupid, but try putting some scotch tape over the mic and set it down on a soft surface. (Preferably on a pillow)
Tape = Muffles BG sounds
Pillow = Muffles vibrations

I only thought about this because once my friend wanted me to record his drumming but there was too much sound in the air. Slapped some scotch tape on it and hit the record button, his drumming came out crystal clear. So I can assume the same concept will work just fine. (As long as you don't have a drummer tight next to you.)

Can you just disable the mic?
