So, after finding a nice Asian restaurant in town, I decided to try sushi. At first I couldn't keep it down, as the texture was quite strange, but after a while it grew on me. Now sushi is all I ever get there, except for some cheese wantons and sweet n sour chicken. Now I want to know more about sushi and sashimi. What kind should I try next?

If you also share the love of sushi, join me in this thread and discus this wonderful food.

Its raw ahi tuna usually served with onions and seaweed and a variety of other options. Its amazing if you're into raw fish, I don't know too many places that serve it outside of hawaii, but if you wanted to make some for yourself, you'd be very pleased.

I think sashimi is disgusting, but I love myself some fresh sushi

EDIT: For those who don't realize, sashimi is raw, sushi is cooked.

Most sushi is raw. Sashimi is just bare fish, with no rice or seaweed.

Sashimi is just slabs of fish.

Sushi is sushi because of the rice. The fish is usually raw, but can also be cooked.

Personally, my favorite sushi is eel.

I tried sushi and hated it. Since sashimi is pretty much raw fish I'd be more likely to go for that since i hated the seaweed and the other stuff in it.

Sushi has only recently grown on me but now I'm very much a fan.
Also, if you haven't already, try Japanese curry. I can't get enough of the shit at the moment. Oh and the mandatory chicken katsudon

There's only so many combinations you can do with yellowtail, tuna, salmon, crab, eel, and shrimp you know?

A lot of sushi tastes the same, except substitute one fish for another.

Look for good deals or specials to know what to get for a cheap price.
