So... I have my studio nearly finished but i need a new guitar or a new effects preamp, not sure what to get though.

Schecter Hell Raiser C-1 FR

Or

Line6 Pod HD

I can only buy one so i don't feel very confident about buying one over the other,
any help is appreciated

What guitar do you have already?

What interface do you have already?

It's helpful to know what you'd be replacing, and what would be more worth replacing

+1 to everything said.

We need to know what you already have to really give you an educated suggestion.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Better, but still...

Budget? What is the purpose of the 'studio'?

I'd suggest either:

1) Get a good interface and decent amp modelling software.

2) Get a good amp, interface and dynamic mic. Sorry for being harsh but your Fender FM212 is crap. If you were to sell the ME 50 and Frontman, that'd get you enough for a great little rock amp (I'm thinking Jet City or maybe a used Boogie).

Could I get some more talent in the monitors, please?

I know it sounds crazy, but try to learn to inhale your voice. www.thebelcantotechnique.com
