So im going to be getting a blackstar ht series amp head. the outputs on the amp head are 1x8 ohm or 2x16 ohm and 1x16 ohm. im going to make my own 4x12 cab. how in the heck do i connect the head to the cabinet?

what ohm are the speakers your using?
are you wiring in series or paralell?

ill be using 8 ohm speakers. the wiring and how to plug it in is my problem.

go to avatar speakers web site. They have a free wiring schematic for several diff styles. Your probably best wiring it in series/paralell to get an 8 ohm load. you would then hook that 8 ohm cab up to the 8 ohm output jack.

run a 1/4" speaker cable from your head to your cab. wire your speakers to a panel with 1/4" jacks mounted on it.

there is a bunch of ways to wire speakers together. robb mentioned series/parallel wiring, that is pretty much THE standard for wiring guitar cabs (for particular reasons).
