Hi guys. Im in the market for a delay pedal.

I have seen the yamaha dds20m.

Would this wok with my set up in my Sig for metal, or any other suggestions? I have looked at the dd-3 and like that.

Money is no issue on this one.

Thanks

i got a used boss dd-3 for $50 bucks and i love the damned thing. it can do just about as much as the dd-7 if you don't need ALL the bells and whistles, and i don't mind not having the tap tempo because the time adjustment knob is so smooth and even. plus there are a million and one little tricks to figure out with it. i'd say go to your local shop and ask to try out some delay pedals, but i highly recommend the dd-3.

but if money REALLY isn't an issue, get an eventide. youtube it and proceed to sh*t your pants.

I've seen the yamaha one cheap though so was wondering what that ones like in comparison.

Here's a few delay pedals that are usually recommended around here:
TC Electronic Nova Repeat
TC Electronics Flashback
Boss DD-7

Is the dd-7 better than the dd-3 in terms of sound?

if you are looking at a digital delay, i probably would go for the tc nova delay. i messed around with one for quite a while and they have tons of flexibility.

however eventide does top the nova IMO.

If money is no issue, why do you look at boss?

It's really the only delay I know, it will fit on ky pedal board well. And the only reason money is no issue is because I'm going to save for it if its over £100, but I will be using it during both clean and lead parts so I need something that can do that nice.

Had a play with the dd-7 today, but I couldn't use it with my stuff, so wondering if this works well with metal lead and cleans?

Would the tc nova work, or is there a better tc electronics delay for less than £200?

there is the nova repeater, but it has far less capabilities than the nova delay.

one thing that i like about the nova is that you can have presets. i am sure other pedals do that too though.

another possibility on the cheaper end would be a memory man or memory boy from EHX, i have played them and they are pretty nice, i think they are both analog though, cant remember at the moment.

but also as stated

the straymon is the god of delay.

Ok when I said money not an issue I meant for one pedal I wouldn't pay more than say £300, unless it warrants it, and for what I'm using it for a grand won't warrant it. Still I like the dd-7, the nova and the straymon.

Il keep an eye out for a good deal on one

If you're down for spending the money, Strymon and Eventide won't lead you astray. TC Electronic is totally worth it if you're not wanting to drop $300+. I've got a Flashback and it is amazing! The stock options are awesome plus you get tone prints and the tone print app (if you have an iPhone or Android). There isn't tap tempo if you're wanting it, but you may be able to get an external switch for it. There is an audio tempo thing that I haven't really messed with yet. Hope all this helps.

I'm leaning more to the tc electronics one at the min, but im not sure which one as of yet.

Hopefully can get one at a shop near me.
