So my sister is getting married in 5 days and she wanted to play something on acoustic guitar while she walks up the aisle. The problem is I cannot play acoustic guitar, I can only play bass guitar. I said yes ofcourse so I was wondering if anybody knew any really good songs to play while she walks up the aisle. I have one acoustic guitar and I might be able to get my little brother to help me who has a bit more experience with acoustic guitar in order to play a duet.

So what songs? Do not be afraid if it is a bit difficult I have 5 completely free days (however I am a heavy procrastinator)

Fire away

Edit: Forgot to mention that I struggle greatly playing chords, so a quick internet guide on how to play them (especially the fingering) would be great (like I said i play bass no chords )

2nd Edit: I am not singing, just playing guitar

Billy Idol - White Wedding or Welcome to the jungle. either would be a crowd pleaser.

If you like it, it's an easy strumming pattern, with the odd hammer on/off.

Thanks for all the extremely fast replies I only have one problem. How the **** do you finger out a chord? Whenever I try its extremely uncomfortable and half the strings are muted

Just take your time and position your fingers properly. Since you don't really play guitar, your fingers aren't really used to being in those positions.
The content of this signature is pretty much irrelevant

Yeah I'm sorry but I don't think you're gonna be able to play a song in 5 days. Try to get a friend to accompany you while you play bass maybe?

Hmmm well I can still give it a shot can't I? Instead of saying I cannot do it (which is probably true) could you please link me to an extremely helpful and straight to the point site? I have nothing on but learning acoustic guitar for 5 days and I have 10 years experience in piano and 3 years in bass guitar so there is a tiny chance. But I do understand your concerns.

dude, my suggestion. It's 4 chords repeated with vocals. The 4 chords are the same chord practically with changing notes below the top E.
Master the one chord and you're set.

Well I couldnt say to no to my sister on her wedding, its the only thing she wanted me to do on the day. I also gathered that it wouldnt be that hard and the time I was much more motivated person. Since then I have become extremely demotivated and lost inspiration, so it is important that I do this so I can get my musical mojo back.

First of all, what kinda woman decides one of the most important parts of a wedding 5 days before the wedding? I thought all girls dreamed of the song they would walk down the aisle to....
Second of all...you're going to ruin her wedding

Thank you for the kind words, and she told me 6 months ago just that I was in my final year of secondary school, so I had 0 time to pick up an acoustic guitar. So most of this is my fault. Please be more helpful.

Don't bother with chords as you probably won't get them in five days. If you keep trying your fingers are gonna be so sore by the end to even play.

You're better off getting your friend to play a chord progression while you play some lead stuff over it with the major scale. Just slowly pick out a few notes that sound good over the progression. You can even play them on the same string to make it easier. Youtube "C Major Guitar Backing Track" or something similar in whatever key you want and practice along with it.

If you arent dead set against singing. Id suggest If I had a gun for sure. ITs kindve boring if you dont sing it too though. Songbird also prehaps. They're both simple.
